Brora 38 Year Old (750mL)

A limited edition, natural cask strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky from Brora, a silent distillery on the Sutherland Coast. Matured in refill American Oak hogsheads and refill European Oak butts  filled in 1977, the oldest Brora we have bottled in this series to date. A highly rare, natural cask strength single malt from closed Brora Distillery. Oldest Brora bottled in series. Superb, robust and well-balanced, with breezy maritime notes on the nose and more smoke, ash and peat than recent expressions.

Fifteenth in a limited series of annual,  extremely rare, highly sought after and will only be available a little longer.

Appearance:  Old gold. Slow, fine legs.
Nose:  Confident and wide-ranging. A wave of fresh lemons, smoke & wood ash, with accents of mint and toffee above a base note of damp sand or leather polish. Trace of vanilla. Clean, fresh and appetizing.
Body:  Medium
Taste:  Cool, smooth and slightly waxy, with lemon peel and rising wood ash above sweet, coating caramel. Depth & complexity emerge as lightly spicy tannins and a minty, peaty pungency develops.
Finish:  Firm & lengthy; nicely charred & chewy with warming ginger and dark chocolate followed by scented smoke.

Just 2984 individually numbered bottles worldwide, only 360 in the U.S.
