Andy Bell is from the Island of Islay and has whisky flowing through his blood. Hid dad, now semi-retired, has, for some years, been running the bar in Islay's renowned Port Charlotte Hotel. After deciding that his degree in Psychology and Human Physiology might not lead to an exciting job Andy took a left turn and ended up working at one of the largest branches of Oddbins, then a major specialist wine and spirits chain in the UK. His Oddbins career took him through various job titles – Wine Advisor, Malt Manager, Business Manager, Account Manager, Assistant Manager and Fine Wine Manager.
It was during his time there that a real love of whisky and wine emerged that would lead him to his next position as Whisky Expert for McTears, the Glasgow (Scotland) auction house. Andy spent two years sourcing and valuing rare whiskies and wines. The enjoyment of sampling new whiskies and wines and interacting with the public led him to his current position as one of the two Retail Sales Managers and Retail Buyers at Inverarity One to One -Glasgow’s award winning wine, whisky, cigar and spirits shop. Andy's days are now spent running the shop, searching out new products and preparing for the numerous tastings he hosts.
Andy has managed to cover nearly all forms of media in his quest to promote both whisky and wine. From Radio to TV, through Facebook to Twitter, He has also set up the YouTube channel - theperfectsip to show the fun element to sampling.
