Kevin Erskine is the creator of The Scotch Blog, an online news and commentary site focused solely on the subject of whisk(e)y and primarily on the Scotch whisky industry, part of the Inebrio family.
He is the author of “The Instant Expert’s Guide to Single Malt Scotch” – a book written for the novice. Kevin's been a fan of single malt Scotch for well over 15 years, and has been hosting Scotch tastings and conducting general whisky education for approximately 8 years.
Kevin also frequently serves as a judge on the Scotch & Irish Whisky panels of the International Wine & Spirits Competition, the premier competition of its kind in the world, for which her was the first American to sit on the Scotch Whisky judging panel.
If you think you know Kevin from somewhere – he grew up in New York City where he attended the Bronx High School of Science, and earned a Bachelors of Science in Communication from Syracuse University. he hold an MBA in Management as well as a Masters of Science in Marketing, both from Johns Hopkins University.
Kevin now lives in Richmond, Virginia with Elsa the wonder dog, where he continues to write and consult for liquor companies (not just Scotch) in the fields of Strategy, Marketing, Online and Consumer Behavior. Erskine is frequently tapped as a guest speaker, for judging, to host Scotch tastings, for writing assignments, interviews, and to conduct staff education for distributors, bars and restaurants.
