Kilchoman Machir Bay Single Malt Scotch (750ml)

A brilliantly peaty nose explodes from the glass like a cherry bomb in a bog. There’s a brilliant showcase of clove, subtle toffee, and peat on the palate, all in balanced measures to create a sophisticated roundness. Heat and spice dance away slowly in the long finish. This whiskey drinks beyond its years and offers a balanced but rich mouth feel that features citrus fruit and peat. Machir Bay ends with the quintessential medicinal Islay finish which is nicely augmented by honeyed nuts and sweet spices.

Machir Bay is the first general release from Kilchoman, and is named after the prettiest beach on Islay. The whisky is a combination of three, four and five year old whiskies aged in bourbon and refill sherry casks.

Peated to 50ppm, aromas of peat and vanilla biscuit are quickly followed by black pepper, kelp and brine. This whiskey drinks beyond its years and offers a balanced but rich mouth feel that features citrus fruit and peat. Machir Bay ends with the quintessential medicinal Islay finish which is nicely augmented by honeyed nuts and sweet spices.
