Unfettered, upstanding, and uncut, this whiskey reflects the robust flavors built in every step of the distillery's long, slow process.

Westward American Single Malt Cask Strength is Westward's original single malt, reimagined and offered at cask strength. The whiskey best reflects the skillful finesse of the talented team of House Spirit's brewers-turned-distillers and the beauty of the bounty of the American Northwest. \

Cask Strength accentuates the rich, locally malted barely and flavorful beer created in-house with House Spirits' proprietary ale yeast, and the newly charred American Oak barrels matured to perfection in Oregon, the ideal environment to raise a world class whiskey.

This little artisan distillery in Portland uses 100% malted barley, rather unusual for a US whiskey and it’s grown in their Pacific Northwest region too. Indeed, their production is further akin to Scotch in that it’s twice distilled in pot stills and they tell us fermentation is with ale yeast, which we’d call brewer’s yeast over here.

Maturation happens over at least two years in lightly charred American oak. It’s not chill filtered prior to bottling and production is in small batches.
